Monthly giving is the most powerful way to create lasting change for Ethiopia. Your recurring gift provides the stable foundation we need to award scholarships, support entrepreneurial ventures, and acquire precious imperial artifacts that might otherwise be lost forever. Unlike one-time donations, monthly giving allows us to plan with confidence and build programs that strengthen Ethiopian culture and unity for generations to come. It’s also incredibly convenient—set it once, and your gift automatically makes an impact every month. Together, we’re not just preserving Ethiopia’s glorious past; we’re actively empowering its brightest future.

Is my donation secure?

Absolutely. The security and confidentiality of your information is our highest priority. We use industry-standard SSL (secure socket layer) technology to protect your information and provide a safe and secure environment for online donations. We will not sell, trade or share your personal information with anyone else, nor will we send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.

What is the option to cover processing fees?

When you choose to cover the processing fees, an additional 12% is added to your contribution to help offset the payment processing and Funraise platform costs. This allows the Royal Ethiopian Trust to receive more of your intended donation while continuing to provide a safe, secure, and convenient giving experience.

Is my membership contribution tax-deductible?

**Yes.** The Royal Ethiopian Trust (RET) is a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (Tax ID: 93-4041676). Contributions made to RET after October 18, 2023, are tax-deductible to the donor, subject to applicable IRS rules and individual tax circumstances.

Your membership contributions support RET’s mission of preserving and strengthening Ethiopian culture and unity, including its work in education, entrepreneurship, preservation of Ethiopia’s Imperial heritage, and support of the Ethiopian Crown.

You will receive a receipt for each membership donation, which you can retain for your tax records. Please consult your tax advisor regarding the deductibility of your specific contribution.

Will I receive a receipt for my membership?

Yes. You will receive a receipt for each monthly membership donation. Each receipt will confirm the amount and date of your contribution and provide a record of your ongoing support of the Royal Ethiopian Trust. Receipts will be sent to the email address associated with your membership.

When will I receive my membership card?

Once your membership is successfully processed, your membership card will be prepared and sent to you by email. Please allow a few business days for your membership information to be processed and your card to be generated. If you do not receive your membership card, please check your spam or junk folder or contact us for assistance.

Can I change or cancel my monthly donation?

Yes. You can change or cancel your monthly contribution at any time through your Donor Portal. Simply log in to your account to manage your recurring donation, including updating your contribution amount or canceling future monthly payments.

How will I be charged each month?

Your donation will be processed automatically on the same day each month using the payment method you provide (credit card, debit card, or bank account). You'll receive email confirmations for each transaction.
